When relevant entities design and implement protection measures against physical and environmental threats and determine minimum and maximum control thresholds for physical and environmental threats and monitor environmental parameters, they should consider in particular the establishment of a separate fire compartment for the data centre, the use of fire-resistant materials, sensors for monitoring temperature and humidity, the connection of the building to a fire alarm system with an automated notification to the local fire department, and early fire detection and extinguishing systems. The relevant entities should also carry out regular fire drills and fire inspections. Furthermore, to ensure power supply, the relevant entities should consider overvoltage protection and corresponding emergency power supply, in accordance with relevant standards.
